• I am a learning tech so while I do meet with our academic colleagues every day, the last few months have proven that we are more efficient WFH, so I think we will all push to work from home even when this is over, if this is ever over.

Re bubble buddies, my thought exactly, not only there are risks fo being buddy up with dirty people (sorry but some people! 🙄), what if you are teamed with with those who you don’t usually get on and now you are stuck with them for potentially months. But what are the alternatives if we have to provide some sort of services to students...

There is 1 thing I am so so glad, we are due to move buildings in the next few years to a purpose built and the current plan pre Covid was hot desk throughout. I think this will not happen anymore, I am relieved. I like my desk the way I arrange it!

  • My employer are planning more hot desking as a result of Covid.

Previously management liked bums on seats. The past few months have demonstrated we can work efficiently remotely. We are almost out of space in the office (increasing headcount) and rather than get a bigger office which was being investigated it now looks likely hot desking when the mythical vaccine arrives is the direction.

  • I use to share a desk with 2 men, we worked shifts so we never co-existed more than an hour or so on any given day. FFS, that scared me for life. Row of mugs, actually half eaten biscuits, various sauces on display. And what really annoyed me was one of them loves putting their feet on the desk.
