If your feet are very wide then you're likely to be looking at Bont or Lake. If you're just a bit wider than normal (I hear Giro empires are very narrow) then things like Shimano and Specialized are meant to be good.
Well worth trying a few brands out via bike shops/friends/buying cheap used pairs and then selling them on if you think you might have difficult feet to find the right fit for.

I have stupid flippers - i'm off the charts width wise for bont, tried the lake CX176 wide with no joy. Have accepted that i need to go to the 238 wide's (wider last). Just a heads up that Richard at SaltDog https://www.saltdogcycling.com/ seems to be absolutely the man to go to for advice on lake. He's worked out his own measuring tool and seems to understand all the last / shoe variations.
Is this the shoe thread? I have some Empires that I used to get on with ok, but following a two year break now seem to cause pain like they're too narrow. Have done lots of running in the interim, have my feet flattened out?
Anyway, what looks good and suits a slightly wider foot? Used to love my S-Works but the new ones are megabucks and I've got some cheaper Spesh that I'm not too into. Happy to spend a bit but I do love a bargain.
