Custom built/bespoke Bishop track pista frameset with chris king headset - £800
History:
Built by Chris Bishop for Stace (https://www.instagram.com/penguinspring/) in 2015
Stace sold to our very own @tomsvoboda
Was too small for him so i bought it. Bit of an impulse buy for me and can't really justify having another bike of this expense.
Comes with a super clean and smooth CK headset; 1" (one inch) threaded
Frame, forks and headset only.
Top tube and seat tube are both 55.5cm centre to centre
Standover is approximately 82.5cm to top of top tube
One inch threaded fork
Clears 25c tyres without an issue but I doubt it'd take 28c
British thread BB
Made from a selection of steel (Reynolds, Columbus, True Temper, Kaisei) with vey rare Kalavinka and Samson dropouts, BB shell and fork crowns, super difficult to source..
Frame:
Lugs- Kalavinka Oversize HT/DT with Kalavinka fastback seat lug with drilled out stainless binder bolt
BB- shell Kalavinka with hand carved bishop cut out
The DT and ST are Columbus Spirit for lugs
HT- True temper OX Platinum TT- custom tapered Reynolds 25.4 at seat lug to 28.6 at HT lug
Chain stays - Reynolds custom S bend Seat stays Columbus SL
Drop outs- Samson
Fork/Headset:
Fork crown - Samson aero fork
Blades - Kaisei Evolution aero fork blades.
Chris King 1 inch grip nut (threaded) headset
The tube tapers are sublime and look gorgeous. The whole build is executed with perfection and ride is beyond amazing. Super sharp handling but soaks up bumps beautifully. Simply put, it's the nicest steel handbuilt frame I've ever owned.
The only issue was the left seatstay developed a crack and was sent to Geoff Roberts for professional repair. He did a fantastic job, checked the rest of the frame over (no issues otherwise whatsoever) and it's been ridden a lot since with no problems encountered. The repair was clear coated to protect it from the elements.
Apart from this the paint is absolutely stunning and again, probably the nicest paintjob I've ever seen. A few small chips and scratches from daily use but nothing major. Definitely no dents, no cracks, never crashed, etc.
To have this built by Bishop would cost over $3850 not to mention the rare custom parts and tubing choice, paintjob, wait time (at least 6 months if lucky), shipping and import taxes.
NOTE AGAIN: sale is for frame, fork and CK HS ONLY
