  • Potentially yeah. To be completely frank, I don't even have the storage capacity for vinyl; it'll also likely bankrupt me, but talk to me!

  • I have an Audioengine B1 for this which is great, but it should go in the aux input or line in. The phono input is amplified differently

  • Im calling this project done. Stereo pair of BK Double Gems. Fucking great.

  • What is going on here? Did you recase all your little boxes into one big coffee machine housing?

  • I recased them all into their little cardboard boxes.

  • Cheers, that's just the sort of thing I was looking for.

  • I bet that sounds amazing.

Top job there; always good to see scope creep in action!

  • Certainly feels like there’s nothing missing now. It’s got plenty of redundancy which is what I was after, kind of effortless sounding.

  • A little turntable tweak I thought I'd share here as it involves a bicycle part! I've made a new arm board for my DIY plinthed Lenco, to receive my old TP-25 tonearm as I really wanted to use a DL-103 I had... The TP-25, although not a reputable tonearm is the only thing I have that in theory matches the DL-103 low compliance; I used this combo before and I remember it sounding nicely.
I tried to make something "pretty", using a sheet of brass with an "aged" finish.
And... For the arm rest, a bicycle spoke with shrink sleeve. Ultimately I plan to redo the plinth, or at least part of it.

  • I got mine a few years ago, and since then a copy has come out with is cheaper and more available in the UK. Teh BluDento .

I don't know anything about it, but has good reviews it seems.

  • As someone else said, I'm not sure what you want to do will work through the phono input.

I have an Aventree Oasis which is both a transmitter and receiver. It plugs into the cassette input/output ports on an analog amp and converts analog to digital, sending the signal via bluetooth to your phone, DAB radio, Etc. You can switch it to receiver and stream from your phone out through you hifi. It costs around £50 and has enough signal to stream from one corner of the house to the other.

  • Phono sockets as in turntable input or just as in some input using RCA connectors? Some people refer to them in different ways.

If the former then probably not, if the latter then the various stuff that people are suggesting should work.

  • Can I have your Topping D70 then? :D

  • Fraid not, that’s still in use.
2x Topping MX3s, a miniDSP nanodigi and a REL T5 are currently surplus to requirements if someone wants them before I think of somewhere to put them to use.

  • not sure if this is the right thread, but hey, this is sound equipment.

I'm looking to sell my AV receiver for a home theatre due to downsizing (stupid flats)...

  • Using balanced XLR inputs and grounding the shield / pin 1 also appears to have cured my humming ground-loop sub. Well done everyone.

  • Nice case

  • I've been messing around with Raspberry Pi's and building a little screen/dac for my Roon system.

Not completed the dac side at the moment. It's running the Marantz via USB. Sounds great.

  • This should probably be posted on the TV thread but I’ve just switched to a brand new LG 65GX and upgraded to the Sonos Arc (along with two Sonos One surrounds that I already had).

Picture quality is insane on UHD Blu-ray but it’s the Atmos TrueHD soundtrack that blows you away. Genuinely room filling sound with width and height. Proper cinema experience in the living room.

Streaming vinyl to it sounds great but it’s definitely missing some musicality you get in a more music focussed setup. Having said that, the ‘full’ sound setting which plays the music in surround sound is still pretty all encompassing.

    10/10, would recommend.

  • What shape is your room? I read quite a few reviews of these when they came out and they seemed impressive but the reviewers didn't seem convinced they'd work in anything but a regular room (but annoyingly none of the reviews seemed to be in anything but that).

Not sure how well they'll work in a room where one wall is a big bay window.

That TV cabinet looks great by the way.
