Apparently the Swinley car park is open once more, but only at 50% capacity, I shall therefore be heading there bright and early tomorrow to play on bikes.

Try the carpark for the sports centre over the road if you can’t get in. Was cheap and empty last time when we couldn’t get into the proper car park (pre lockdown)

Is there a reason the new Solaris Max doesn't have a bottle cage on the seat-tube?
Tools in the one frame cage, Camelbak (or similar) for the water.

Yeah, Swinley's great on a gravel biek.

Is there a reason the new Solaris Max doesn't have a bottle cage on the seat-tube?
It wouldn't allow for a dropper, particularly if people want to run one that's more than 150mm.

Great to bump into you all - and many thanks for the coffee.
This is the route that I took to the red-circuit (following a couple of chaps who always park at Kebab Van), which is trail rather than fire-road:

I'm also glad that a) no one saw my inadvertent one-footer, and that b) I didn't crash. Flat pedals - never a dull moment.

did bits of epping on thurs when it rained all day, very muddy, deep puddles everywhere , rivulets of water on most trails, standing water galore, thoroughly wet, thoroughly muddy, thoroughly enjoyed it

Was super lovely riding with you all.
I'm sad that no one saw my crash and that I didn't take any good photos...

Did roughly this route today. Had a great time. Think we’ll just head to Peaslake or Leith Hill next time so that we can lap something in the hope of improving but it was quite fun having no idea what was coming up next

Wow. Lockdown is making things nuts. Been looking at MTBs for my son on eBay. This whole week I have watched more than one 24" Orbea bike, each one about 2 years old, go for OVER 75% of the RRP. New listings go north of 50 watchers pretty quickly. C'est bonquers.

Feeling sorry for myself today. Went out yesterday after recent rains, first ride in the wet for a while. Lost my front wheel on the first vaguely-technical trail I tried, leading to a nice selection of scrapes and aches today. On a related note, I've finally admitted defeat and ordered a pair of flat pedals, with 5-10s to follow once they're back in stock.

It’s taken the birth of my son, buying a house, a global pandemic, brexit and Australia getting a stronger than usual sun tan (or about a year), for me to jump up a wheelsize from 26”...
@Po hope I did it justice, only a house move to go and I’ll get it filthy again. If the lap of Unadopted roads and small stairs is anything to go by it’ll be tons of fun. Once the fork has been set up. And maybe extended to 140.

Flat pedals are the answer. Will never ride clipped in again offroad.

Howard: what will you do when you can't recommend a Calibre Bossnut to everyone looking for a first mountain bike?
