  • Any better Ideas?

Keep the difference to 16T or less

  • You're right, should have checked with a 44 I also have. But as I want to ride it tomorrow I put a 5800 chainset on. Also felt like none of the derailleurs moved outwards enough to push the chain up.

    Don't let @DarkShot hear you.

  • Finished off a Roberts

    Looks like Olly's

He bought those cranks, so he's clearly deaf to logic.

I suppose it depends what you want from a front shift. If you're racing and need to change fast and often, Shimano have spoiled you with their road race kit. If you just want to toss the chain onto the bailout ring a couple of times a day and don't mind how awful dragging it back up onto the main ring is when you go over the crest, then go nuts. Old people used to do both with half-step-and-granny 🙂

  • It is / was, he very kindly gave me a good deal on it

  • It is

Cool! Another bike with forum history!

  • Had flat bars on this initially, much prefer it with the drops. Will definitely keep it now so next up is a full frame bag.

  • Tarted up my langster over lockdown with new finishing kit, pedals and a a bling ring

Fun if a little impractical for anything but an urban spin

Can confirm, shifting was pretty terrible and thus done as infrequently as possible.

Inner ring was bumped back to a 28 from 24, 16t spread on the dot and improved shifting even on these rings.

  • But it looked so cool...

  • Finally got this out for a long stretch into Surrey this weekend. Needs a few finishing touches. Might need gumwalls, might not, haven't decided.

  • Nice tires, but that floor! Straight to porn

  • haha! thx! it is a funky looking floor! creaky also!

  • Looks great on the black walls IMO! That paint does all the talking.

  • wow!!!
I can only find one wrong thing... the bike isn't mine! :)

  • Thanks bro !

  • Went on a very long drive today to collect my next 'project'.

Obviously the bars, stem and saddle have to go.

Group is full tripple Dura Ace, which might get to stay.

Seatpost is currently stuck. Is there an approved technique for removing a carbon post from a steel frame?
