Got a bit closer today
Will lob a chain on tm and tidy up the cables, just need the bar tape and tyres to arrive, then find some crabon pads
Think I’ve sorted the cassette by taking the 12t on and using the 11t as a spacer against the lockring, the gap isn’t to much bigger either so will play about tm.
There is massive spoke clearance at the back of the hub/cassette, so might get the file out at some point and see if I can move the cassette across a bit

Totalled the freehub on the other Rourke though and cannot get the NDS lock nut off to free the fucked hub bearing, so looks like it’ll be off back to Cliff.
Chewed a pawl that then done some lovely stuff in the freehub body it seems

Things that aren’t in the post I still need and can’t decide on
tyres
What you want to get are some completely impractical wheels so you can use tubs, you've already got the crap braking sorted at least.

They are tubs #tubulartubclub

LoL
Who do you think I am #doubletubColm

Makes sense for this bike though, tubthumping was big in the 90s

It came with 20c’s 😂

Can we have an update pls
-
• #560
You can
It’s now finished enough for instagram
I’m going to ride it for a bit before deciding what to do with the stem.
Yeah I think a black one would look good, but I quite like this one and it measures up about right on paper. It’s also stuck and stuck in a ‘this will be pure hassle to free’ way.
So if it feels right then I’ll just leave it and enjoy it.
The caveat to all that is that this is def version 1 of this build, as V2 will have a silly groupset and maybe some other wheels. But the gruppo will take a while to assemble so when it’s all together, then I can rebuild stuff/fuck about with the stem

Looks great with that wheel combo, makes the frame jump out as even more rowdy somehow.
What tyres are those? Turbo Cotton's?
The grey pedals just seem too dull for such a sweet shop colour explosion bike.
-
• #563
28c turbo cottons, as the roads here are ‘kin awful
Pedals are just Ultegras I had to hand, but dunno how more colourful I would want to go, or could go in SPD - SL flavour

Blue ones to match the drop outs and BB I reckon, but red could work too, or neon yellow, but really anything but grey ;)
-
• #565
I nearly bought some blue shoes to match, dunno if you get metallic blue pedals, or if they are good idea the amount of abuse I seem to give things 😂

Those bars erk me, and I think a nice silver post would look better, but apart from that very nice.

I might be persuaded to make a post when the last bits of the puzzle are here, will let Rob bask in his own neon glow on here though.

Code for "my wheels haven't arrived yet"
Your Dave is lovely thing though, nicer than Lairy Brian I think
@spotter They are weird eh, but I rode it for the first time last night and they are really comfy, in fact the whole bike is, which is a delight. I may get a silver post to see how it looks though
-
• #570
Silver post would be easier to sort than a non-stuck black stem!
-
• #571
True.
I'm just going to ride as is until new kit arrives I reckon
Oh any your Turbo Cotton/Latex tube advice was bang on - lovely pillows of speed, proper Lemmys

Glad you like them! I wonder how much Spesh will pay me to be a influencer...
