thanks - i've managed to get the outer all the way through, so logic would tell me yes! makes cabling a tiny bit simpler
-
• #2628
I did 4 and 7!
And yep to the full outer cable.

• #2629
Cheers. I've gone 3 and 6 out of caution

cross posting this weird campag/look compatibility conundrum in case anyone recognises the issue. could be something simple...

That Spanish guy on the gram with all the Once team bikes must have one of those.

Anyone got an idea of the weight or look PDF history of the KG196?

Can someone explain to me what makes LOOK Hambinis fav bike manufacturer? What's a few videos back in the day before The Great Meltdown and he thinks the engineering is spot on. What makes LOOK different?
-
• #2636
Granted nothing about the weight.
-
• #2637
The frame should be 1600-1650 grams and the fork around 450 grams. Awesome looking bikes
-
• #2638
I think for him it’s the manufacturing process and quality control of each frame that comes out of each factory that impresses him. (Especially their manufacturing and roundness of the BB and their crankset)
But I think Time bikes beats the Looks bike in terms of manufacturing quality.

Time? I'll check them out. Seems a bit of a blasphemous thing to say on the Look thread...
-
• #2640
Indeed, would love a yellow one. But the blue one would do for now.
-
• #2641
I know, but you have to appreciate and acknowledge quality when it’s there.
The company isn’t doing that great and looks like it will be brought by another company soon. Exceptional build quality even outdoing the Look.
-
• #2642
Yeah for sure. I'll do much research. Shame they aren't doing too well, hopefully the build quality won't suffer

There's a Raoul Luescher video of a cut 695 frame that is not exactly flattering... My 586 UD had a good finish but actually had a void in the steerer, that was revealed when it was cut.
I'm not sure Time is going to survive, perhaps a good, er, time to buy.
-
• #2644
Yeah, I heard about this too. Was asked if this was a fake or not, but never got a straight answer.
Time manufacturing is more complex and hence why the quality is exceptional, but probably the reason why they’re also not doing so well either as they don’t really cater for the masses.
-
• #2645
true. i had a Time that a white van sadly sent packing but the carbon layup, particularly the forks, was something else
-
• #2646
This says 2860g for 54cm KG196 frame and fork (presumably inc ergostem).

It's been downhill for a long time, especially since the death of the founder in 2014. The Boonen-era VXRs were really the last memorable ones.
-
• #2648
This makes more sense and probably the reason why mine weight around 10.5kg overall.
-
• #2649
nothing about the weight
The picture you yourself posted says 6.18lb including headset & ergostem, so 2.8kg

D’oh! Many thanks!!
From memory, mine does.
