Being nosey, were these officially imported in the uk in the early 70's? Wonder what the import duty was compared to a UK car.
Also wow, never seen one that clean and straight before.

You are right. Names match and everything seems legit I just want to take belt and braces approach to make sure no issues with daughter saying wasn’t her fathers to sell etc etc. I have said I won’t buy without her present and will walk if not. Given the speed at which second hand cars are being bought seller probably doesn’t car but let’s see!

A little of both. It has been resprayed and its had a few mods but everything else seems original. The interior has seen some use but all-in-all it's in really good condition.

Mine is a 1970 but they weren't originally imported till 75. It doesn't have any paperwork so I'm unsure of its history.
I searched for about a year before I came across on that was clean, straight and didn't cost the earth!

Have MOT extensions automatically been added where applicable? If not, how is this possible?

They add six months to any that are about to expire once a week from what I’ve seen.

Crazy to think these were produced until 2001 in Brazil.

Ha, the SP2, so cool! The non-tuned version is nicer tho
I had a TL, they could be had for real cheap 15 years ago (fuck I'm getting old). Will dig out a picture.

This one, I drove it to a fancy building to take this pic and put it for sale before moving to the UK.

Some other Brazilian oddities:
Santa Matilde
Puma GTB
And the coolest of them all, the Gurgels, small engined cars with fibreglass cabs.

New MOT day. New rear tyres. New legal orange indicators (the white ones were a fail though got away with it for a couple of years). Same Old grin when behind the wheel.

Roof bars - can anyone help clarify how universal they are? Car doesn't have rails that protrude from the roof, but has fixing points that have a plastic slide over cover (Astra G), my wife has a Jazz ES (2010).

You will probably need different feet for each car, but they will be able to attach to the same bar (assuming roof width isn't wildly different). I would expect the Thule website lets you plug in the car details and tells you what is required

My car has covered fixing points. They were shit and the (albeit budget) bar/mounts combo sheared off after a couple of uses - had to drive to France with the rack secured with ratchet straps which was interesting.
Now use Thule mounts directly onto the body work which are much more secure. They come with a couple of different rubber shims I think (or you can buy) to adapt to different roofs. -

Really lovely that

Not trying to be combatative, but then I'm not right at the moment so please forgive me.
As I mentioned before, have had issues with faded amber lenses that were MOT fails with amber flashing bulbs.
In irrelevant news am going through my 126 and fiat spare parts anything that you want?

Where is the glass?
-
• #54873
Where are you again, as I may have some roof bars that fit the astra, specifically from vauxhall.
Look on the halfords website to see which foot kit fits each car.

That reminds me of the type 4.
Brazil has some real oddities, A while back I was looking at importing a brazil only Fiat F.I.R.E engine as they have an 1.0l 8v multifuel 78hp beats the standard 45!
