  • Bollocks, that's great. Get it geared decently. 😉

  • Incredible. Is that one of the Bluelug refectors hanging from the saddle?

  • Ever-reliable (but in need of a new wheelset if anybody is selling one...)

  • Hell yes! What's the rack if I may ask?

  • I was watching a not particularly nice looking old claud butler frame but it came with a full deore LX groupset and a WI crankset, forgot to bid and it went for £62. I would have taken it for that just for the components.

  • Decathlon do 26inch rim brake dynamo wheels for pretty cheap.

  • That is absolutely stunning

  • Wow that is every kind of awesome 👍👍

  • Basil Portland Carrier I believe? Heavy but kinda reasonably priced

  • So, I bought this from The Bay. I always fancied a Rock Lobster as much because of the name and colour as anything else (plus I liked the B-52’S) and I know the basic history with Merlin etc, but can anyone in the know advise if this is a Rock Lobster, or just a red frame with stickers attached? It was a quick, impulse buy, but looking at images of RL’s they appear to have a mono wishbone seatstay and I was confused with it having canti bosses and a disk brake attachment.
    Have I been done?

  • Looks fake to me, I’ve seen a couple without the monostay and with disk brake and canti studs but the stays were curved/wishbone style. I’m having a nightmare sorting my team ti one out, if you’re desperate get in touch pretty close to giving up and sorting out my muddy fox instead

  • No idea -but let me know if you want to shift that tequesta, I sold one in the exact same colourway a few years ago and regretted it 😭

  • Recently spotted - i like

  • I love those Bridgestones. I always keep my eyes peeled for an MB or XO when searching the classifieds.

  • Trying to get a few retro mtb projects knocked out (cheaply). Almost finished my Muddy Fox, running 2.1” tires which rub on the back so gotta find something cheap and slim maybe Continue town and country In 1.9”. Gotta take the logo off the seatpost, would like to get a basket for functionality in town. But other than that it came out alright.

  • like this a lot

  • Love it - what else have you got on the go?

  • I’ve got a San Andreas that I stripped earlier this year to build the rock lobster, an alpinestars elevated chainstay frameset, my beast of the east needs new wheels broke my spinergys somehow, a colnago elevated chainstay prototype need shifters and brakes. Franck Roman Cannondale and Cinelli Machine got finished over lockdown. A ‘dale 1fg gotta change the cog, bleed brakes. A nice FRM frame that I got for free when I bought some levers and a crankset last weekend. Main problem is the rock lobster just doesn’t feel right at all to ride so thought I’d just try and knock out a few projects as cheap as possible, and found a Kirk this morning tucked away that I completely forgot about. Gonna strip and polish my Stars and Stripes mtb dale for a change as I sold the matching road bike. I’ve got about 300€ but loads of bin parts.

  • I seen a few of the aluminium versions without the wishbone stays and the red looks right so could be genuine

  • And what are the chances of someone finding another aluminium frame with both v brake and disc mounts with the identical cable routing along the top tube and the reinforced weld under the head tube then get it resprayed with replica decals? Sounds like a lot of work for a counterfeit rock lobster

  • Saying that i just read @Jay75 comment in the non monostay frames still having a curve to them which both the ones i saw had and yours hasn't so now I'm not so sure. It has been 24 years since i had mine and all I can remember about it was that it was yellow. But if yours isn't genuine i have no idea what it is. I assume you didn't spend big bucks on it?

  • '94 Orange P7 I just built up.

  • Those FRM cranks look amazing. I've never heard of them before.
