hippy Just thought I'd mention the fact I've seen freshtripe ads twice in google mail now. Your sponsored links are working freshtripe.
Vodka is great.Blimey - at least something is!
...I knackered my website with Mac OS Leopard the other day :(
That'll teach me for being an early adopter...

Was going to order with Ribble - but they ran out of stock b4 I finalised.
Placed with cyclebasket - the cheap spokes making up for the high postage cost - and then they screwed up on the rims: Ordered 2 x Open Pro, they sent 1 Open Pro, 1 x Open Sport. I'll take some convincing to use them again. -

Velosolo just sorted me out with a few bits - stem, risers, headset and grips. Good service and fast (but not free) delivery - seem like nice people as well. I'd never heard of them before but they have a load of good value parts under their own brand that looks worth trying, and some helpful faq's.

I ordered a pair of Park cable cutters and some Campag brake pads from Total Cycling, simply because they were the only people showing both items in stock.
I'd had a bad experience with them before but decided to give them a second chance.
Placed the order on the 27th of April, they charged my card and emailed me a receipt/acknowledgment.
I have them a call today to ask where my order was- 7 working days after placing the order.
The lady who answered had a shouted conversation with someone else in the office about my order with her hand over the receiver, then told me that they didn't actually have the cutters in stock, hadn't had them when I placed my order, and were not going to place an order for any until the end of next week, and would I be ok to wait?
This is pretty much exactly what they did when I ordered a torque wrench from them.
I would advise that people only use them if you don't mind paying for your goods and then waiting two to three weeks for them with zero communication.

+1, great customer service. Ordered some cogs and lockrings from them which were orginally out of stock, yet they were in regular email contact with me to ensure I received them fairly quickly.

+1's for Velosolo quality service and the rather shite service from Total.
Most recently I had a piss poor service from BikeBitsUK (also trades as bikepeddler on eBay)
Only placed the order as I wanted quick delivery primarily (for a maiden ride of the new build) and site states "same day despatch" Pffh!!Placed order on Monday.
Phoned Thursday to check if sent, as had NO contact/confirmation/etc.
A rather arrogant man answered the call
"what are you after?"
"info on my order!?"
"what..are ..you..after?"
"in-fo....on...my...or-duh..??" X3
Got my back right up before I mention Veloflex tyres and he rather cock-ily tells me "all veloflex orders have been sent out"....Following week....
"where are my tyres?"
"I'll check when i get back to the office"
....received email later that evening...Your order will be sent out tomorrow recorded. WAC.Lessons learnt?
Will never use BikebitsUk or bike peddler again for anything. period.
and never leave tyres as the last bit of the build.Anyways, rant over!
Had lovely experiences with Will Hubjub, CRC and obviously here, during the same build. -

Another +1 from me, they even left me a hand-written note on the receipt which I thought was awesome!

I'm sure I read something about them recently on here - they sounded good. Anyone confirm or deny? I'm thinking of joining their VIP club as it seems to save a bit of coin on some stuff.

Weird dredge, but has anyone used Slane Cycles before?
They seem to have full groupsets with all the crank length / chainring / casette options available when no one else has any of it in any options.... which makes me suspect foul play. -

yes, i know slane cycles v v well, top bunch of lads, paul the owner and brother Andy and Vincent the mechanic. Belfast based, my home city. Buy with confidence. If in doubt, ring them.

Nice one, thank you!

I have a terrible tale about Slane I'm afraid @.gaz.
Personable chaps for sure but definitely not reliable. Do not have stock they show. Ended up getting a third of a groupset direct from the distributor, after waiting weeks. Promised Giordana shorts as compensation. Never appeared.
The rear mech exploded on the first ride, destroying a custom frame and Zipp rear wheel. Returned mech for warranty, still heard nothing after two weeks. Sorry, avoid.

Advertising stock online you do not actually have seems to be a bit of an issue at the moment-I bought a Cyclo Campagnolo bottom bracket/freewheel removal tool from Winstanleys Bikes, I waited over a week wondering where the hell it was, then 1 1/2 weeks later they emailed to tell me they didn't have it in stock.
It's still advertised as being in stock now, even though it clearly isn't. They've kept my money of course I assume, and havn't really offered the option of an automatic refund. Really quite annoying

I'll just chuck velosolo back into the mix here. Have been amazingly quick and helpful for a stack of bits over the last few months. Solid bunch.
And another one for hubjub too - until recently i didn't realise there had been such an issue getting hold of bits and pieces.
Both a big thumbs up
Where in Essex exactly? Just wondering as I also spent my yoot being harrassed at bus stops by groups of Sharons and Traceys in white stilettoes (possibly an earlier era to yourself).[/quote]
Sorry the reply took four months! Grew up in Colchester, so all the joys of Essex + squaddies. Ahh, it wasn't too bad.
edmundane - wouldn't be opposed to a ride.....
