Yeah, I had been round all the Julius Caesars and Mark Antonys in London

There used to be a shop near the East end of Coldharbour Lane that was named after him and had his head over the door, made from cork. No idea what the original shop was - the cork seemed to shed a layer each year and was in a ratty state when I first moved here - but it changed hands and purpose quite a lot without the head ever being removed. Would have been a great tag but I think it finally came down a few years before the forum even started.

There are hints and clues and then there are DM me if you want to know the location ;)
Good tag by the way @skully, and great paint job on the bike matches my Raleigh.

Quite fun working this one out from the clues, can't be bothered to travel that far for it though.
-
• #22509
Can we be sure it wasn't chopping the layers off itself?

Was going for the red herring approach.
As far as the paint job is concerned, was actually thinking of saffron shades but it ended up more like an 80s ice-cream van lolly.

Genuinely happy to hear that.

I'm going near there on Friday morning, but it's already a 200 mile loop so don't think my mate will want to divert a few miles to snap this up!

Thanks. I'm rather lost by the clues. Particularly Mark Anthony's speech.

The fact that this is still going after 10 years makes me so happy
Slow to this, but yes, so glad that there is always a bit of the forum devoted to it. Not cycling / very mobile at the moment but do have some time in my hands so will indulge in some armchair tag-solving until I can get back out there

First guess on this one turned out to be right. It's a bit out of the way, though.

Web-site for Sandycombe Lodge in Twickenham:
Ha, yes it is quite a way. There was a much nearer option for a similar blue plaque on Kennington Road.
