Chris I have a set of 18” Carrera five spokes that will be spare in August, ET50, 8J fronts and ET65 10J rear. Possibly a bit wide, of course.
Stock wheels on the Bug are 18"8J with ET48 so the fronts would be fine but the 10" rears would not work. Now if I could find two more fronts.....
Edit: research says no. Porsche 5x130 where as VW is 5x112

Sorry I don’t want to hijack the wrong thread but if anyone knows the answer to this question it will be this thread!
I am looking to buy a car from a private seller. It is a father selling on behalf of daughter. Is this an issue? Are there any ramifications if he is the one I am paying and he will be PP’ing the V5? She will not be present during the sale. Could this come back to bite me in any way?

How do you know it's not stolen? I'd just go through this https://www.gov.uk/checks-when-buying-a-used-car diligently and pedantically, and would request his identity which I'd photograph, and then a written receipt which I'd video.
But then I'm a bit paranoid about such things.

Thank you I am also fairly paranoid about these things. I have seen all the paperwork which is in his daughters name (they share surname) and will take a photo of his ID beforehand. I have also ran an HPI check and it is clean so hopefully me just overthinking these things. The daughter has already signed the V5 but I am obviously no there to see! I am
Also preparing a receipt where he will certify that he is authorised to sell on her behalf. I imagine it has limited legal weight but better than nothing! Thank you -

I wouldn't have thought this was an issue at all. Having someone come inspect your car and negotiating a sale can be a pretty stressful experience for a seller, I'm sure many people aren't comfortable with it so it gets passed to the member of the family who's most farmiliar dealing with these situations.

The V5 needs to be signed by the seller and the vendor not PP!!!! As mark said I have sold cars on behalf of friends and the friend usually gave me a cover letter to say so.
I had issues with a buyer 'mistakingly' not signing the v5, remember that v5 does not mean that you are owner of the car.
Do the names match the electoral register?

This is my FJ40. I brought it from auction a while ago and it has been sitting at my parent's house since. The plan is to make it into a bit of a monster. The first step is to change the current engine with a 4.5-liter, 24-valve inline 6 engine I managed to source.

It's going to be a while in the making. At the moment it runs well so the plan is to amass parts and then do everything at once.

I wanted a yellow one but could never find one (that I could afford). I'm currently fluctuating between yellow, black and khaki for the final colour.

Keep it red. Looks rude. :oP

Oh shit.
Looks like it's in great condition just from those 2 pics. Well maintained or a rebuild?
470 quid to replace a seized calliper along with new pads/fluid etc?
Yay / Nay?
