thanks mate, whats the front fork on it
really interested looking at a build for a steel touring bike

Hello mate
It's the standard steel Surly fork that came with it - not sure it has a name. Braze-ons for cantilever brakes, drilled for calliper. Eyelet for mudguards. Fits anything up to a 700x42 tyre

Hi chap, does the bike have anything that needs addressing immediately?

Not at all. You could ride it away today and it would happily take you hundreds of miles barring a puncture. I was using it daily until I bought an Arkose a couple of months ago. All runs smoothly. The brakes on it aren't great, but then they never were!

Aware that I haven't ridden it for a while, I've just ridden it around the block. It's all fine. No grinds, squeaks or rattles - well the mudguards rattle a bit.
Comes complete as seen in the pics with mudguards etc. -

This seems like a real bargain.

Thanks matey. Would you consider posting it? I'm not a million miles away - in Chester.

Priced to sell. Ten years old and I've had plenty of use out of it. It will be a good bike for a new owner but will need more money spent on it in the long term.

Price takes into account the fact that someone will have to come and collect. Currently it's going to be a massive ball-ache to post. So no - sorry!

Any idea when you might next be coming to London? Been looking for something like this for a city run around.

Sorry mate - no idea. I usually come down for work every couple of weeks, but at the moment the policy is not to travel. Realistically it could be months before I head down there.
If the bike is unsold I'll update this thread when I know more.

No problem. Thanks for the reply :-)

Thanks mate. GLWS otherwise.

Hi
Looks like I'm going to be heading to Chester end of this week/early next week, so could deliver if you are still interested. Let me know.
Cheers fella

Update: I'm conceding that no-one fancies a drive into the beautiful Shropshire countryside to collect this, so I'm now happy to post this at cost. Haven't looked into it yet, but I think £35 seems to be about the going rate. Thanks

Reckon I'd still be interested if that's the case. Will DM you.

*SOLD**
Thanks for your interest.
Hi
I'm looking to sell my Cross Check. It's ten years old, used as a winter commuter, so it is a bit scruffy. But still a really solid bike. Always stored dry and kept clean-ish... The photos show its major flaws - faded paint work, strap rub on crank etc.
It had new wheels and a full pro service 18 months ago, since when it has done probably 800 miles
Does £350 seem fair? Let me know if that's wide of the mark. Ideally you could collect from Shrewsbury area. I'm often in London for work, so I could bring it down, but no idea when I might be heading that way in the circs.
More info or detailed photos available on request.
