Looking at doing Traws Eryri
https://www.cyclinguk.org/article/traws-eryri-your-questions-answered
Recommends a hardtail MTB but that seems mainly based on gearing and tyre size. So, I'm thinking my Vagabond with a low gearing and 29er MTB tyres might be OK. Anyone done the route and any have any thoughts on bike choice?

Friends/LBS owners did it last weekend, on their commuter bikes, with a border terrier... recent insta posts have info e.g.: https://www.instagram.com/p/C5W4Dn0oax6/
Think there's a bit of road, but 29er seems a sensible choice.

Cheers. Looks like a fully rigid set up might be tolerable, given that Surly (although those tyres look a bit wider than the 29er tyres I've currently got).
As threat from Covid begins to subside, beginning to think about taking a bikepacking trip to Wales.
Ive checked out Bear Bones Dash and Trans Cambrian Way but keen to hear other suggestions of multi day routes (3-7 days) where theres food stops available most days
Suggestions gratefully received
