Yeah I guess I hadn't accounted for customs. Clearing isn't given a priority based on value though is it? Is it that Wish ship everything in a container full of tat and the whole container is given a lower priority? All other low value items I've bought from China from eBay have arrived within 2 weeks.

Seat post mounted bike packing bags - I've seen online a template to make a holder that the bag goes in. Cant find it anywhere...
Any help?

Can anyone help with identifying what type of mech hanger is needed for this Ribble?

I'd email ribble to ask what frame it is, they're usually pretty helpful

I'll try that! Cheers.

Any recommendations for a decent folding home exercise bike?

Some manufacturers have utilised 6 bolt disc brake mounts for bolt on track cogs.
Why does nobody produce a centrelock track hub/splined cogs?I saw mention on Radavist from some years ago about Formula doing one but no other mention of it on the web really

Why does nobody produce a centrelock track hub/splined cogs?
Because it's a terrible idea. Brake rotors go one way, fixed sprockets get load reversal. Now think about what happens when a spline with backlash in it gets load reversal, and the expensive part (hub shell) is soft aluminium while the cheap part (sprocket) is hard steel.

So splined cogs and hubs (like WI and Miche carriers) just rely on the spline interface being beefy enough to cope?
Vs the much smaller splines of centrelock

Quick one - 37c inner in a 38 tyre? It probably needs a repair too.

The Miche splines are steel, so much harder wearing, and also cheap to replace.
In the case of splined sprockets of all the mentioned kinds, the design inherently has backlash because the whole point is to make life easier, and using a flank fit spline with sufficient interference to eliminate backlash would be a: inconvenient because you'd need a puller to get it off and b: impossible with an aluminium shaft because the sprocket would just cut a smaller spline rather than expanding to generate the proper preload.
Of course, the 6-bolt system has geometric backlash too, since the bolts are smaller than the holes, which brings us to the next important feature: all the sprockets are pushed up against a shoulder on the hub, and the drive should be by friction at this interface, not by mechanical interlocking of the splines or bolts. It's a clutch, not a pin drive.
Six M5 bolts at 6Nm gives about 36kN of clutch spring load, with larger diameter pressure surface than either style of lock ring.
A 1.29×24TPI lock ring at 40Nm gives about 7kN of clutch spring load. The smaller male thread lockring version of centrelock is a bit less than that. -

So 6 bolt is a more suitable application for fixed cogs than traditional thread and lockring?
I just don’t like thread on cogs and would like a better alternative :)

Me too, I with there was more bolt on track hubs around. Velosolo sell converted Shimano ones but only 32 spoke.

So 6 bolt is a more suitable application for fixed cigs than traditional thread and lockring?
Yes.

15×100 hubs are very easy to convert

What about 15x110mm? Closer to 120
Stupid question that one. (More so than usual)
Just didn’t know whether the chain line is different -

Will Schwalbe 40-635 tyres fit on my 700c rims?
Bonus question: Why are there so many notations for this?
-
• #103044
They’ll fit real easy, won’t stay mind you.

8 speed shimano cassette on a 10 speed shimano hub. Does it work or are the splines different? Does it need a spacer?

Please help a cyclist with no idea on how the frustrating car insurance industry works.
I've been offered some work for a popular London car club. I'm not an employee but will be a independent contractor (sole trader), so I've been advised I need to arrange my own insurance that will cover me to drive any of their fleet of vehicles. They are all bog standard Ford Focus, Polo's and the odd E-Golf, so nothing fast or exciting, and valued individually at less than £30k new approx. The cover the car club want is for liability up to £5,000,000 for loss, damage or harm, which is apparently a fairly standard number used in such policies.
I don't own my own car so have no need for any personal car insurance, the insurance is needed just for work purposes and nothing else. I will be moving numerous cars short distances, passing by local garages to fill up with fuel if necessary, but that's all it is, multiple short journeys, all within the M25.
I'm over 40, have a clean driving licence I've had for over 20 years, but I don't own a car, so have no no claims bonus. I have been using the car club in my previous job and have driven probably over 30,000 electronically recorded short car club miles in London over the last 5 years, and have never had an accident or acquired any points on my licence.
I've tried a few motor trade insurance sites with no luck. Staff can't seem to get their head around the fact I need some kind of driving insurance for work, but that I don't have my own vehicle. I've spent a few hours today getting nowhere, and am braced for a day of the same tomorrow.
In order to try and minimise tomorrow's pain and wasted time, has anyone got any experience in this kind of thing? Policies for external contractors to drive fleet cars belonging other companies must exist right? What are they called exactly and where can I get one? Any advice or companies I can call will be gratefully received, thanks.

They are the same spline, you actually may need to remove a spacer than add. There is a 1mm spacer on 10 speed.

Ta very much.

Call the car club and get them to point you towards a suitable policy.
Thanks for the windscreen-wiper chat y'all.
I hadn't considered cleaning the screen & blades. I'll try that first, and see if it makes a difference.
