    Why does nobody produce a centrelock track hub/splined cogs?

    I saw mention on Radavist from some years ago about Formula doing one but no other mention of it on the web really

    Because it's a terrible idea. Brake rotors go one way, fixed sprockets get load reversal. Now think about what happens when a spline with backlash in it gets load reversal, and the expensive part (hub shell) is soft aluminium while the cheap part (sprocket) is hard steel.

  • So splined cogs and hubs (like WI and Miche carriers) just rely on the spline interface being beefy enough to cope?

    Vs the much smaller splines of centrelock
