Shit luck. She shouldn't blame herself too much. It happens. I've got very lucky twice when I've forgotten to lock mine, once for a whole working day, and it was still there both times. Be prepared for the rack to be removed by whoever might be selling it on. However, as it wasn't locked, it may well have been someone who won't sell it on; opportunity makes thieves.

Thanks Oliver. She’s pretty upset. Closest I’ve come is leaving my keys in the lock for about ten minutes while I went into Mosquito Bikes, still there when I came back.
I’ve marked it as stolen on immobilise.com and will be trawling Gumtree and eBay for a few days.

My Giant Revive went missing on Wednesday from Gloucester Terrace W2. I say missing, as there is a slight hope that it was removed in connection with some street works.
Anyway, blue frame, looks like this:

In connection with above, should say that the bike was locked to a signpost, as unfortunately all of the cycle stands were in use. Signpost uprooted and no bike ;(

I hope you get lucky, but what makes you think there were streetworks? That doesn't look like something a contractor would do--for starters, they wouldn't leave a tripping hazard lying around. I suppose there's an outside chance they were revising the plates on the signposts (perhaps for a CPZ change), but unless you saw the same thing with all the posts along the street, and the posts were later replaced with different ones, I would assume that your bike's been stolen. :(
Hope you get it back somehow--it is, after all, very distinctive, and there aren't too many of them about. Check on-line in all the usual places. Make sure you report the theft to police, too.
Good luck.

It doesn't show in that photo, but there are chalk markings on the pavement and a notice on a lamppost about utility works. I called Westminster Council about it and they are checking with the contractor.
However, I realise that realistically that theft is most likely. Just seems a bit odd, as it is probably not such an easy bike to move on, and stripping it for parts would not bring much. Anyway, reported the theft and keeping an eye out online and in the area.

Yes, I doubt that's enough evidence of actual works. Fingers crossed.

I just had my black and blue Orbea bike stolen overnight.
— Jeremy Yun (@jeremyhhy) June 13, 2020
It has a custom headset and handlebars. Scratches on the top tube. 49cm bike frame. And an identifier on it to say that it came from Australia.
If you happen to come across it please let me know.

Thanks Dov,
It's really annoying, I know that it's unlikely it will be found, but there aren't that many around so you never know it might turn up on somewhere.

Sad to hear, check out shpock, you might see it on there. How was it stolen, cut lock?
-
• #15224
No, it was inside of one of our industrial units (work is spread across 3 of them). They managed to sneak in there and take it, leaving another bike behond (presumably stolen).
The business next door has CCTV coverage so hopefully that turns up something.

Sorry for your loss and definitely an insider's job.
My partner had her dark grey Pinnacle Arkose stolen from outside Waitrose in the Brunswick Centre in Bloomsbury tonight. She forgot to lock it up (I know!), probably due to tiredness after a long day working in an NHS hospital, so she can't even claim on the insurance.
The bike is pretty unusual in that it has Dura-Ace 7900 shifters and mechs, and a new-ish Tiagra chainset. The rack is a Tubus Fly and it has a spare spoke in an aluminium tube taped onto it. Bars have black fabric tape on them. Frame size is small.
