Ive got a set of old Bontrager Race X lite wheels on my commuter with paired spokes. They may or may not have the DT swiss made hubs, I can't tell, but they have survived 4 years of commuting on the same SKF bearings and still spin really well,. The rear rim is worn out . I didn't think you could lace paired spoke hubs to standard rims, but I've just noticed another old Xero wheel I have does exactly this, though it is 20 spoke vs the 24 on the Bontrager. Does this mean I could follow the same 2x lacing pattern easily or does spoke length get complicated?
