[Garage door bolts]
Yeah I don’t know why they’ve fitted it like that, or why they’ve used such a shit padlock. That picture was off a security site so you’d think they’d know better.
On my old garage door, there was about 3cm of frame in front of the bolt hole and I used padlocks with shrouded clasps so you couldn’t get croppers on them. Overkill, maybe, but mine was the only garage in the block that didn’t get done over.
In principle I quite like those ones you linked to. It’s going to be a question of a) whether it’ll fit and b) how good the lock barrels are. They look a bit easy to pick (they look easy to rake). I normally try to have two different types of lock to protect against pick attacks as well as two shapes of padlock for crop or cut attacks.

Did you put it on a fast spin?

Your a stretch.
Tape from the top.

Best bike phone mount for a Galaxy S10e?
All the 'best phone mount' guides I can find online seem to be iPhone only or ancient.

• #102983
This site mentions a few Android options.

Don't tape from the top, do it properly from the bottom with a direction switch at the shifters.

Then tape it with a used plaster.

It's a X profile key. Whether there's pins on more than one side or even all 4 sides, I don't know. If there's any spool pins or a strong spring in there, they could be fairly difficult.
A brand new Ultion cylinder is by far my easiest open. I bought one with a view to stocking them for work. Within 10mins of the postie dropping it off, both ends clockwise and counter.

Quadlock has been solid across two or three phones for me, if you can live with the mount on the phone itself (alternatively have another case for the phone with the mount permanently on that)

Did you put it on a fast spin?
Yes. The default is pretty high.
As to whether it matters. I'm tempted to get her to send it back. It would have been cheap, but it strikes me as such BS that a t-shirt would shrink like that in a normal wash.
-
• #102989
Agitation is what causes a lot of shrinkage. Higher speed spin cycle will increase this greatly.

If the garment was cheap it is doubtful the fabric would have been pre shrunk and may even have been stretched considerably in manufacture.

Cheers.
Obviously I shrunk it and I'm not going to be a dick about it. But for my own peace of mind I wanted to check.

When my windscreen wipers are chattering and squealing across the windscreen, does that mean it's time to replace them?
And are there standard sizes? Reputable brands? Or does each manufacturer have their own proprietary shapes and sizes?
-
• #102992
Get Bosch, they're worth the extra. Halfords website has a calculator that you put your reg into and it'll tell you which ones you need.
-
• #102993
there are different attachments and sizes, so its sort of 50/50
Not all are the same but its not specifically bespoke to each car.I know Halfrauds have little books in their stores that you filter for make/model/year and it tells you which blade to buy.
I think their website has a thing where you put your number plate in and it filters to the appropriate parts.
You can then google the blade reference for a company you'd rather give your money to. -

Not always, sometimes they just need a good cleaning. You can inspect for wear once they are clean.
-
• #102995
Spinning isn't the same as agitation though is it? Once the washer revs up the item isn't moving around whereas agitation will more often happen during the wash cycle, especially for top loaders - more of an NA thing.
-
• #102996
Most washing machines shake during spin cycles. Shaking is another word for agitation. Longer faster spin - more agitation.
-

But some garments can be reshaped/sized. I recently was given some John Smedley wool polo shirts and T-shirt’s. After one wash they had shrunk by over 10%. Contacted their customer services who suggested a low temperature steam iron could help reshape the garments back to size and shape. It worked perfectly.
-
• #102998
Sure but it doesn't compare to the kind of back and forth that an actual agitator subjects clothing to.
-
• #102999
I don’t recall any wool cycles which spin at full speed because wool is so prone to shrinkage.
A lot of gentle wash programs barely turn the drum. -

This is true, but I thought the item was a cotton T?
Self-amalgamating tape?
