  • I did think about them, they sound amazing but not very practical for the reason you mention. Can't imagine struggling with one on the side of the road!

  • Never even heard of them, will have a look. Thanks!

  • Almost as good as Marathon supreme :-)

  • Amey approved. I'm in. The Voyager Hyper must walk the fine line between practical and panache.

  • i love pancakes !

  • Anyone tried the Vittoria Voyager Hyper?

I've got them on my touring bike. I've been very impressed by them. The only problem is that Vittoria stopped making them a while ago, and they're getting hard to find. But if you can get hold of some, they're a good choice.

  • Covered extensively in this thread too if you search.

I had mine set up ghetto tubeless on some Pacenti SL25 rims and they were excellent. I took them off to try gp4000s instead as I wanted something faster - the 25mm gp4000s didn't really any faster but felt a lot less comfortable and I lost the off road ability 37mm tyres give you.

Tubeless at 35-40 psi they are truly sweet.

I'm going to put them back on today, so obviously I regret taking them off now.

  • Unfortunately Planet X - previously a good source - only have the wired versions now which I wouldn't recommend.

  • Schwalbe all round tle 700x35 ,
snow comes monthly here in winter,
I treat them very badly off road,
and cycle up to the snow limit on days off to go hiking.
I was dubious about the utility of the little knobs on roads,
I quickly forgot about them last summer.
Now that the third row of knobs is desappearing at the back,
I came to realise they are surprisingly effective helping you up slippery stuff.

The front one still have knobs,
there is a small rock embeddded at the back since last automn.
    No visits at all.
I can't figure out what is their exact replacement in Schwalbe's range.
    I'm 70kg.

  • Thanks. And my follow up was going to be whether there was a difference between the voyager and the voyage hyper?

What's wrong with the wired version?

  • i think the schwalbe g-one tle 35mm.

  • Anybody using Spesh Roubaix Pro 30/32 2bliss (FFS!) ? If so any chance of measuring actual width for me? Ta

  • Good shout, will have a look.
    Thanks!

  • Second on Challenge Strade Bianche, never really struggled that much with getting them on (not more than new GP 4 seasons for comparison)

  • want to come round mine and put a set on my bike then pls

  • Sure, should I also leave you my number in case you get a puncture?
I guess it may vary sligly depending on the rim, I am not saying it was easy, but not my worst.

  • Went with Schwalbe G-ones in the end since they were cheaper but still want to give Strada a go at some point. There are so many horror stories about getting them on out there though!

  • I've had a set of Gravelkings slick (the non tubeless ones) set up ghetto-tubeless for a while, never a problem with them until this week. I've had 15 punctures in two days, almost exclusively inside my house. Think they're on their way out.

What's the go-to 32c tubeless tan walls of choice these days? I need something for 95% road use, very rarely venturing onto anything rougher than hardpack mud

  • I've got some compass stampede pass on my cx bike for road use and they are great. They lasted twice as long as my g-ones and yet to have a puncture. Not cheap but very nice and once they're eventually done I'll buy them again.

  • Not cheap

    How many millions of pounds?
I think I'm after something a little less boutique than those

  • 70 quid each but 35 if they last twice as long . Got my eye on barlo pass in 35 tan wall.

  • They are great, but no gumwall option (that I'm aware of)

  • What's wrong with the wired version?

Just heavy. And they aren't that light in the first place.
