Yeah, was attracted by the price especially if some discounts turn up.

If looks are what you're after I'd take these over the Vittoria

Good point..!

Aye let us know how you get on with them, might try them in tubeless once there are some initial reviews.

I've been riding the hell out of my 26x2.15 Big Apples lately (with at least 15 years old inner tubes), and zero punctures so far. Been on road, off road, on loose gravel, dirt, ridden through broken glass numerous times (wankstains breaking vodka bottles on the bike lane at night, big brain), and they just withstand everything. No sign of wear either. Wouldn't change them for anything atm.

would you say that these Specialized nimbus tyres should be the other way round?

Yep.
-
• #7260
Huh. Thought so.
thanks. job for later.
-
• #7261
Don’t think it matters, unless it bothers you aesthetically
-
• #7262
Indeed. It's the 'wrong' way round, but whether it actually makes any difference in practice is highly debatable.
-
• #7263
Yeah, it's not exactly a showstopper but it does bother me a tiny bit.
Even though it's Emma's bike, not mine...
*more accurately, it's a bike which I acquired on Emma's behalf.

It would annoy the hell out of me. Leaving it would not be an option. For no particularly good reason.

What 700x35ish tyre similar to WTB Horizon is there?
Will use with tubes and for general road/winter/shit weather riding.
I spent the last winter on 28mm 4 seasons, tried 32mm for the last 2 weeks but the extra 4mm make no difference to me so I might as well max out what fits my mudguards. -

Pasela?

• #7267
Challenge Strada Bianca. If you can be arsed with the pain of getting them on.

I love my Big Apples as touring tyres, but unloaded I found them heavy and slow rolling. Just not a lot of fun. Bomb proof though as you said.
RTPs have really opened my eyes to what a really good tyre does to your ride. Also they saved a whole Big Apple tyre in weight!

• #7269
RTP is what?
-
• #7270
rat trap pass
-
• #7271
Probably WTB Exposure is going to be the closest thing out there
-
• #7272
Ah ok, thanks.
-
• #7273
sure thing

Anyone tried the Vittoria Voyager Hyper? Lowest rolling resistance in their class (apparently). I decided to not buy my tyres on looks this time around. It's for a audax bike and thinking either the 35mm (most likely) or 38mm (much less likely).

yes they are excellent
With an RRP of 38 Euro (assume lower in the shops), these will be a fair bit cheaper than the FMB though.
