  • Really want a V40. What are the reasons that would be a stupid idea? And if there are reasons, what else should I be looking at that's 2 or 3 years old and can be had by throwing £10,000 at someone in a shiny suit or branded fleece?

Upsizing, but likely also keeping, a 2004 panda. Don't want to go too big. Will have a child seat and assorted kid paraphernalia liberally scattered around the interior.

  • That looks so good!

  • They're not that big, and the pillars mean that load capacity isn't great.
Go for a test drive in one, and then buy a Golf/Seat Leon instead.
(I did the above and ended up with the XC40- which was an unexpected outcome- but it is just brilliant).

-I really want a Double Cab Pickup as my next car.

  • Thanks all, I foresee some spending

  • Finance? Lease?

  • I don't trust Financing, so I will buy a car if I can afford it with cash only.
    Ex-Demo.

  • can't believe how awesome the r56 looks on fat tires.

  • parked round the corner from me

  • Ooh, digging it. Looking into the same thing mate. R53 with set of Enkei's and some minor modification to the engine but a fair bit to braking and suspension. They seem to really shine with low weight and good rubber.

  • For braking, R56 JCW calipers are a popular mod to the R53.

  • I remember when you were my housemate and had a mini.

  • Norman I believe was his name.

I liked Norman. We moved house in that car.

  • I liked the zim zimmer that came next better.

  • 07 bmw estates are great, very cheap to run, can recommend a specialist if you need an inspection.

V10 m5 is dreamy but the running costs sound obscene.

  • On the lookout for an estate.

  • You get mud and chain oil all over the tart's boudoir white leather interior. And then the engine borks itself.

  • Burn to the ground.

Mate had one, had so much done under warranty, then eventually caught fire.

    Engine - multiple times
    Gearbox
    Diff
    ECUs

You need one with a BMW warranty, but the max limit claim is the value of the car, so one big claim and the warranty is finished. My mate knows some people so got some strings pulled, but for your average person it's going to be a terrible time.

  • Yep, taller tyres good move and for Irish country roads, strut brace and a skid plate, four pot calipers,,,, oooh brings back memories

  • heart wins I hope

There seem to be very few left (now why could that be?) but you can get a more sensible interior:

    (Although this one is reserved).

  • With all of that said, my C55 is one of 50 UK cars so is significantly rarer than the M5 Touring, and (relatively speaking) has a simple and very strong auto, and an unstressed V8.

  • That v10 though....

  • Good to know. What's the primo source for cooper information? I don't like overly modifying things. As stock looking externally as possible (except for wheels), but ability to move like a whippet.
