  • They're not CO2.
They're Nitrous Oxide, and used as an intoxicant for achieving a brief high.

  • Well, either or... They look the same. Why would somebody discard it on the side of the road though? And it's not occasionally I see it, it's everywhere! First, I thought it's cyclists, but then who needs 5 to pump up one tyre, right?
So... people get high and then put all empty ones in the pocket, then stop the car in the middle of a dual carriage way and just dump them? Seems like a lot of hassle.

  • hassle

    what about the fridges?

  • Because they are usually half out of their minds on other substances and/or in a party group that doesn't give a fuck.

    Don't inhale CO2 btw.

  • Likely it’s just where they parked for a time. You’ll find a small collection of them wherever a drug dealer/recreational user decided to stop.

I’ve had them thrown at me out the window of a car, in the car park, right near the house. Cops didn’t give a shit when I reported it.

Fortunately use is inversely proportional to aim accuracy, so no canisters have hit my person. I’ve seen a CO2 deflect off someone’s forehead from a faulty BB gun, though. That was scary.
