  • They're not CO2.
They're Nitrous Oxide, and used as an intoxicant for achieving a brief high.

  • Well, either or... They look the same. Why would somebody discard it on the side of the road though? And it's not occasionally I see it, it's everywhere! First, I thought it's cyclists, but then who needs 5 to pump up one tyre, right?
So... people get high and then put all empty ones in the pocket, then stop the car in the middle of a dual carriage way and just dump them? Seems like a lot of hassle.

  • hassle

    what about the fridges?

  • and sofas?

  • and kitchens?

  • That’s more the lovely countryside, side roads :-)

  • You can't blame people for trying to make it more comfortable to be outside.

  • If the cannisters have threads it's cyclists. If they don't, it's Nos.

  • Because they are usually half out of their minds on other substances and/or in a party group that doesn't give a fuck.

    Don't inhale CO2 btw.

  • I reckon it's about 62cm, although of course it depends on the exact shape of the frame--I mean a classic, evenly-shaped tubing, horizontal top tube frame.

  • You’re not wrong.

  • Steel/aluminium/carbon narrower tubes look more elegant

  • I've got a small set of wheels (451mm) that I want to ebay, should I have the tires and tubes mounted on them for extra potection or leave them off?

  • might as well leave them on unless you want to keep them. they do offer a bit of extra protection

  • They'll be part of the sale, just not sure whether the added height would be worth it considering the cost of shipping.

  • On and deflated, like my member.

  • Cheers and sympathies.

  • What about this: ship the wheels separately in square cardboard "envelopes".
    Cheaper?
    Less safe?

  • Likely it’s just where they parked for a time. You’ll find a small collection of them wherever a drug dealer/recreational user decided to stop.

I’ve had them thrown at me out the window of a car, in the car park, right near the house. Cops didn’t give a shit when I reported it.

Fortunately use is inversely proportional to aim accuracy, so no canisters have hit my person. I’ve seen a CO2 deflect off someone’s forehead from a faulty BB gun, though. That was scary.

  • Any suggestions for a payment app that will allow me to accept monthly payments from customers for free?

Obviously they could just set up a direct debit but looking for something less clunky were I can just send a link and they can input payment details.

  • Take the £200 and contact the manufacturer directly - they probably have a fixed-price repair plan (and possibly a long parts-only warranty where you only pay labour). It’ll be expensive but less than the independent repair.

  • Just shrunk my OH's new cotton t-shirt in a 40° wash, mixed setting.

    Label says 40°.

My OH says I should have washed at 30° as everything is 30° nowadays.

    I don't think a new t-shirt should shrink anyway - it's not a wool jumper - definitely not at 40°.

    Who's right?

  • Who's right?

Does it matter? The shirt isn't going to unshrink itself.

  • What is the name of the tape that is recommend for wrapping the ends of bar tape? Not electrical tape...
