Very cool. I want to do the same now. Pondering getting a longer rod and bending it down to under the bag to act as a support as per the back

Genius! Where does one get an old inner tube from? Is there any special tying techniques?

Does anyone know if your seatpost has to come out to fit an SQR bracket or do the clamps open up?
-
• #1397
I'm pretty sure it has to come off.

Mmm slightly annoying.
Just ordered a Nelson and thinking I’ll need something to stop it sagging. I have plenty room under the saddle though so maybe I won’t.
Are most people running their bags on bagmans, sqrs etc or just by themselves?

I think maybe by thirds with some using Carradice supports, some running rear racks as a support and some using nothing underneath. I find some kind of rigid plastic used inside the circumference of the bag useful too.

I have never used a support with my Barley. Just a QR saddle clamp and an old toe strap to strap to the seatpost.
Works for me and mean that I can quickly remove the bag and leave the bike looking pretty "clean", with just the QR clamp on the saddle. Pretty unobtrusive.
Strikes me you could make a long one of these with a curl at the ends to make it work without the QR mount thingy, through the old school saddle loops.
Agree on the lack of handles. Tell em! @carradice
