Oh I see, my bad. I do like my QR bagman then.

I've got a bagman qr with the extra support rods that bolt on to the frame. I found that the bagman by itself would flex too much with a loaded camper longflap. the support rods are great, no more flex. I usually clip on a shoulder strap and take the bag with me when i do groceries on trips.

I've got a Glentress which is an SQR carradice which holds about 5 litres. Perfect commuting size, it's a shame they discontinued it.

+1 for Sue. I bought a Super C saddlebag years ago for the canti-mount front rack on my commuter / baby-hauler, but I never quite got the mounting right. Now on the seatpost with an SQR mount, and it is far better.

Before I order, what is the difference between these two bags ?

https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s73p2783/CARRADICE-Super-C-AudaxJust the material ? And if so, which do I go with?

Cordura is lighter and stronger but cotton duck is natural and sustainable.
-
• #1358
Cordura might be initially stronger but you get a rip in that and it will unravel much sooner than cotton.

True, that ^

Have gone with the quick release support and Super C Audax from spa cycles. 200g extra weight won't make a difference on an already heavy bike and @withered_preacher raises a fair point about cordura. I think £96 posted for both items seems fair for something that should last me a couple of decades.

Let us know how you get on. We have a few of them, two of which are over 25 years old (I know that's nowhere near as long as what some here and elsewhere may have).

Quick release looks very hand indeed. Will fill it with crap and ride it today.

Been thinking about a front mount for my Carradice Audax and Nelson for a while now. I tried something and thought I should share.
I think this is the simplest I've seen off this thread.
First pic shows the bracket dropping under the top tube and was my initial idea.
Second pic is what I refined the bracket down too. Way way cleaner.
Third pic is the bracket removed from the bag which you do by just squeezing the bracket together.I guess if anyone has a Thomson stem and a similar setup should just work fine!.
...waits for the round of applause and back slaps.

What is the bracket made from? I want to do something similar with my carradice (barley I think)

I reckon its 3mm Stainless steel rod.
I cut my bit off a broken mudguard.
You only need a 200mm-300mm length piece.Hacksaw and 2 pliers. I taped the rod so I could mark with a pen where I wanted to bend it.

Guess I could squeeze a cable frame protector on the rod to stop scratches to the underside of stem.
