You could try leaving it outside on a hot day - Some UV might help reduce the residing bacteria and stench.

Try spraying with some white vinegar mixed with water (and some nice smelling essential oils if really bothered). Vinegar gets rid of smells, and doesnt smell itself once dried. Used on trainers a few times

My heart rate strap smells like death, but worse. It's one of the Garmin ones that has the sensor built into it so I have been hand washing it with soapy water, but that's clearly not effective.
Should I risk putting it through the washing machine, or does someone know of a better way to exorcise the stench demon that is currently in residence?
