Agreed. I'd prefer to put the money into sound quality and noise cancelling. But yeah, it seems touch controls are "the thing".
You'll probably get used to it tbh, but I can imagine it's frustrating.
Today I managed to enable aptX streaming on my old MacBook which gives me higher quality streaming to my terribly - named MixCDer MS301 over-ears. They're actually real good since I've added some aftermarket plush ear cushions...

Must admit the android NFC is really cool. Just put my phone to the war and it turns bluetooth on, on the phone, the headphones on, and connects them. Neat! Though you do not seem to be able to do the same action, for the reverse solution, ie turn off. Which is a bit weak.

Yup. I mean, what's wrong with buttons? Product designers trying to innovate but getting it wrong. Bad design.
