Sounds great and if the GPS manufacturers start linking up the the v platforms I'm sure that would really help. Maybe pitch that solution? Gtn said ironman are currently looking into ways to prevent v cheating and as its a new but growing problem I assume manufacturers and v race organisers are going to be all ears for this kind thing.

Cryptographically signed trackpoints is the answer, it wouldn't be too hard for one of the major GPS manufacturers (Garmin, Polar, Suunto, etc) to do.
