853 probably be slightly lighter but I doubt there would be much in it.
clearance is pretty similar I think?
the croix de fer has a sloping top tube compared to the Kepler so that might be a consideration if you plan to use a frame bag, maybe the croix would be a bit more comfy as there would be more seatpost on show?
the stack is going to be higher on the croix de fer, but if you're like me you've probably got a bunch of spacers on your kepler because of the short headtube.

There’s an 853 Croix de Fer in my size at a reasonable price but wondering if it would be much of an upgrade from my Brother Kepler Disc. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on the frames?
