Bought a Sand Viper body for my DN01 the other day! £10 with a wing. Ace.

Reports of my Sand Viper look promising, may need a new wing, Where'd you get body and wing for £10?
You certain about the TRF? Gonna be asking for what I paid for it (175), +fees and postage, comes with a couple of extra pinions, and the new wheels and tyres (plus the 2 sets I got with it). -

eBay. I just have a search running for Tamiya and replica bodies then I snap up anything usable that's about £10.
Which isn't much now.
Certain? Dunno haven't seen it yet! Does it work? Is the diff good? Shocks OK? Slipper OK? UJs present? Would you chuck in the new body or do you want that for your SV?
I basically want it for the shocks, outdrives, slipper, alu suspension blocks and UJs that will convert my DN01 to TRF spec.

Pleasant evening spent tinkering with the Viper (not a euphemism). Turnbuckles fitted, hopped up shock springs fitted, and templates cut out for masking windows on new shell ( now wondering whether to just buy black self adhesive vinyl, may be less of a faff). Awaiting rit dye (black), and set of tyres (as I kinda destroyed the original rears on a car park on Sunday).

Also trying to source a front shock tower brace, may have to give fibrelyte a call tomorrow, see how much they'd charge for making one (or minimum order quantity).

Least favourite rc job today, cutting out the body shell and wing. Hands aren't steady enough, but I've learnt from last time, patience is the key.
Ordered some mirror silver self adhesive vinyl for the windows, should arrive next week. -

Put a 4500kv motor in my DN01 - it's now somewhat rapid. It will probably melt.

Have you TRFed the DN01 yet? DT02 with 10.5, 2s is a bit of a handful, fun though.
May have done a foolish thing, ordered another buggy! -

Nah just cleaned it all up and audited the crazy other stuff that came with it :) was going to rebuild the diff last night but CBA. One of the clutch plates needs a bit of TLC too, looks like some dirt got in it and it's carved some grooves in to it. Will probably be OK.

Looks like an archaeological dig when laid out like that.
There is quite a few spares to go through. -

Rebuilt the ball diff in this - was going to take phots but CBA in the end. Feels better now. Bedded it in with a drill, adjusted it again, chucked it all back together with a new motor plate.

I would test the motor on timed runs.
Start with 1 min, 2min and so on.
If the ECU / Batt or motor are not molten then u Golden.
(I only burnt one out in Boat, car is still cool after runs)

Bollocks. I'm wrong. They have them...but the stupid Tam Tech 1:16th version. FFS.
Just waiting for an update on the condition of my Sand Viper (lent it to a friend), if it's not fooked, I'm sure we could come to some arrangement for the TRF.
