  • Adding overcooked to the couch co-op mayhem. Also on gamepass.

  • Overcooked was too stressful for me with my daughter being rubbish at it, she's been playing more stuff now and her control has improved, maybe we'll revisit it.

  • If you’re going Game Pass, Lonely Mountains: Downhill is definitely worth a go. Sort of a platformer? Simple to control, but v satisfying. I have been putting a lot of time into it lately.

  • Yeah, need to get back into that. Very zen.

  • I might get that just for me :)

  • Just noticed it's now released on Switch too. Downloading now.

  • Nice, that'll go well with Two Point Hospital for my "chill out on sofa with the Switch" collection

  • She likes platform/puzzle/exploration games.

The Raving Rabbids games tick all those boxes, while mostly being casual games you can dip in and out of. Also much fun when played competitively and daft enough that a 10yo and an oldster like you can play against each other and both have fun.

  • Speedrunners is good for a quick blast and lovers in a dangerous spacetime is worth a look, Ori and the blind forest was a great platformer and the sequel went up not long ago.

  • Anyone have any experience of PC compatible VR headsets? Getting a new work PC that’s beefy enough for VR. Was considering the oculus rift s for the gtaV VR mod, but wondering wether to get a oculus quest and hold out for the pass through update that will come out in November for use with a PC....

  • Spider-Man for a tenner is excellent value, only just getting into it now. As a grown man I’m slightly embarrassed about how much I’m enjoying a story mode that is clearly aimed at 11 year olds. The dialogue is also surprisingly funny. That and the they’ve finally nailed the swinging mechanics.

  • Can't you already use the quest for passthrough?

I have a quest and it's really good for the price but definitely a way off the more expensive headsets in terms of absolute quality of image.

  • I’m an idiot, you are right, I was reading a 1 year old post about the update.... quest it is, the more expensive ones basically seem almost impossible to get hold of. There’s a new HP headset coming out later this year, which sounds like better value with similar specs to the high end ones, but think I’ll give the quest a whirl, see how the whole vr thing grabs me, then trade up down the line if it seems worth it. Fancy myself a ps5 for Xmas so that and a £900 headset will unlike the possible.

  • Anyone talking about how chill it is is insane. I spent 90 minutes last night perfecting a 100-second run.

  • I've swiftly realised this, I was mislead by the gentle chirping of the birds.

Edit: Really enjoying it so far, I do like that the timed challenges look at the total of your individual sector times meaning you don't get doubly punished for crashes. Do wish there was at least some camera control though, countless times already I've nicked an obstacle that I was sure I had cleared. Could be shit depth perception on my part though. Also love the inclusion of the night mode. Running pretty smooth on the Switch too which is always nice to see on what I assume was a predominantly "home-console" focussed game.

  • My god. Overcooked 2 is so stressful. Just played about half an hour with my girlfriend and had to turn it off for the good of our relationship.

  • cheaper than therapy!

it really does turn the mirror on communication & default blame behaviours though doesn't it

  • I picked up Overcooked on the Epic Games store (it's their freebie at the moment so why not) in preparation for when I move in with my girlfriend soon, may have to rethink haha

  • I mean, I don't want to blame it all on my girlfriend but....

  • Can't remember who was looking earlier but it seems as though stores are starting to get the OG Switch back in stock...

Nintendo store had some yesterday and Amazon have some now.

  • It's loads easier, maybe a little more stressful but definitely more fun with 4 people
