Wanted: rigid MTB forks

Posted on
  • My search for 26" forks continues. If anyone has any 1-1/8" (threadless), rigid, steel/aluminum/carbon forks with a steerer length of ~200mm (minimum) and axle-to-crown length of ~420mm (minimum), please let me know. Has to have v-brake bosses (or carbon with mounts). The lighter the better!

Open to ideas, but preferably Salsa/Surly/Soma/Kona/Kinesis/Pace/On-One/Exotic. Links to any for sale online also greatly appreciated.

  • Are these any use, from Planet X. I have just received these for a build of my own. They have discontinued the same fork with disc brake mount only, so once this stock has gone, they might do the same. Uncut steerer length is 300. Axle to underside of crown is 400. To top of crown 440.

  • Thanks for that, I saw them earlier but was a bit concerned by the weight (quoted as 1.2kg) as it is similar to the existing weight of my RST suspension forks, and I wanted to cut the weight down if possible. I think if I can't source any around the 800-900g mark, I'll buy these. I suspect they are strong and well made.

  • Yeah. I’m using a pair with the disc mount only on my Cube mountain bike just now. No problems.

  • Anyone else got anything?

  • I have a set of exotic carbon, ally steerer.....disc only

  • Argh, those would be ideal except I don't think there's a way to mount v-brakes on them (no adapter like the Pace RC31 version). Just out of curiosity, what's the axle to crown measurement?

  • Any others available before I buy some on Ebay?

  • Ebay seems mental at the moment, stuff selling for crazy prices. Anyone found a 26" rigid fork down the back of the sofa on the weekend?

    Found.
