Actually as a side question, at what age did your boy stop going on your bike, or hasn't he?
As a car owner, which I know some others aren't, I don't really consider the long term requirement. My wife isn't a keen cyclist but likes the short trips out and about, if we need to go a bit further, we jump in the car.
Ezekiel is happy to ride his balance bike but he can't go very far at the moment at 2.5, but I can see his stamina increasing every week.
I kind of assumed, by 4, he'd not need a child seat on my bike and I could have my Surly back as my own, but I'm happy to be told otherwise.
I’m expecting my 2.5yr old to go from needing my bike to get from a to b, and then transforms into I have ridden x miles and now in need a break... so will be looking at tow hitches etc
