I used these successfully to create fork-crown mounts for a Surly rack on my Kepler.
They were pretty fiddly but super strong and worked perfectly. The only draw back is that it makes mudguards tricky and - when I took them off today - they had scratched the paint quite a lot so use the rubber protectors
