Planning in some renovation to our lounge and hallway next year / late this year. I want to change and/or move the meters to smart meters, especially the elec as it's in a stupidly big box and by moving I could reduce the size of the box and stop smacking our heads on it. The Gas could do with being a touch smaller, as it's right behind the front door and sotps it from opening fully, again the boxing in is shite and leaks cold air in to the hall.
My supplier (Octopus) have been woefully slow with their rollouts and now if I change supplier I'll be at the back of a very long queue to get them installed, so what are my options around just paying for someone to come and install them 'privately' as it were? I know I'll have to pay for the meters themselves, but this is pretty intrinsic to the renovation as the area where the meter was will need to be made good, and the upshot is I should be able to choose the smallest possible units.
