  • So I picked up this Saracen Kili Pro a while back but it’s got plenty of issues. Seat post was stuck, now out. Fork is solid, front wheel bearings are knackered but there’s a few dents. The main one is on the drive side chainstay and it’s deep enough to make me wonder if it’s even worth doing it up. Any thoughts?

  • That is a big dent, it must have taken quite a whack to do that! I’d have a measure up and check the back end is still square. Assuming it’s still square:

If it’s steel, I’d be inclined to just leave it and run it as a beater. If it’s Ti, leave it because it’ll be a wild expensive repair but do keep a close eye because longer term it might develop a crack.

  • It’s tange mtb steel. I have literally no idea how you can get a dent there. I had the thought it may have been from someone trying to get the seatpost out. Will likely just run it as a beater, it’s still square. Won’t be doing any big trails or drops.

  • Most likely from a badly installed kickstand.
