Those are the best types

It’s basically a loop around the lea river and marshes so super flat. Only elevation is dropping into and out of the water level. I do need to maybe run in the opposite direction and hit some of the Essex hills...

I have been sent an email with the Orion fell race route if you are interested. The only Cat A fell race inside the M25.
It was pretty windy today, that's a good effort

Anyone on here have Achilles problems. My right has been shitty for the last 12 months after over doing it shall we say. Went for a light jog today, only a mile. There’s no pain. Did a bit of stretching afterwards.
Question is how long do I leave it until my next jog

When recovering I normally have at least a days rest.
Are you doing any strengthening exercises?

• #22957
Cheers, yeah I’d be interested in checking that out!

There will be loads of local club runners doing this over the next few weeks, I think the race would have been this Friday

Great, thanks - that’s a relatively short ride out for me too.

I do weighted straight and bent leg calve raises - 2 seconds up and three down. I also hop on the leg to 180bpm metronome. Both are helping currently.
I had the same thing last year and this stopped it.

Thanks for the advice. Will try as I do miss running but my ankle is a bastard

When I went to the physio he said it was probably down to a weakness in my calf.
Another thing he said was concentrate on keeping my feet loose when running. If it carries on, and when social distancing is relaxed, I'd really recommend going to one - it helped me loads.

Not far off, E17.

Gps fail today, but OS maps reckons my 5.3miles on the flatest route I could think of around here hit 20metres climbing. S.MCR is officially mountainous in comparison to others attempts.

5m run on what looks like pan flat fields to me and I still clocked 38m up and 38m down!

Bastard sneaky gradients!

Is that using a phone app or a dedicated gizmo?

Can I have some sock recommendations please, I seem to spend more than I’m happy paying, find them uncomfortable but use them for a season because they were ten quid a pair. Mid length and thicker/padded as opposed to those super thin cycling stylee...
Hilly’s any good? -

If the question is to do with cheap effective running kit, then the answer is usually decathlon. They do different height, thicknesses and so on, but I find the £2.99 ones totally fine (I only run up to about 12 miles, so can’t talk for real distance)

I've made a discovery over the last month or so, running on dodgy uneven ground, slippy and lose stuff, has meant that I'm not getting the tendonitis swelling after my runs. Maybe by doing this I'm strengthening my ankles and calfs?
I really miss the dynamic movement i get from playing a team sport. All the bumps, direction changes, sprints and odd balances that you need.

Probably not a brilliant time to host that consultation when clubs are unable to meet and discuss things properly. The Met League just went ahead and equalised it all, I think.
serious run that. with such a small elevation, 37m in 21km is about 1.7m per km.
