  • So I picked up this Saracen Kili Pro a while back but it’s got plenty of issues. Seat post was stuck, now out. Fork is solid, front wheel bearings are knackered but there’s a few dents. The main one is on the drive side chainstay and it’s deep enough to make me wonder if it’s even worth doing it up. Any thoughts?

  • I like those Saracen frames with the top tube extended into the seat tube. More succinct name for that? I bought a tufftrax on eBay the other day in a nice purple colour, true temper. But the guy had it stolen from his lock up before he posted it. I think they’re well proportioned frames.

    Are there no diy bodges to get the dent out?

  • That is a big dent, it must have taken quite a whack to do that! I’d have a measure up and check the back end is still square. Assuming it’s still square:

    If it’s steel, I’d be inclined to just leave it and run it as a beater. If it’s Ti, leave it because it’ll be a wild expensive repair but do keep a close eye because longer term it might develop a crack.
