I work on a few 'confidential' projects, for my employer, an architect. I would like to images of some of these on a portfolio website, purely for circulation to prospective employers, some of whom will be my employer's competition. Apparently wix sites can be made unlisted, so they don't appear in search engine results, but what other steps could I take to minimise the risk of them being circulated by those I send the site link to?

Not the same bike, although probably not too dissimilar, but the Genesis iO that I have is 16" and I'm 5'5".

I want to post a letter to Ireland. I only have first class stamps. From what I can see an International Standard Letter costs £1.42. If I stick enough first class stamps on that cover that price will that work?

Nothing that doesn't require a login and sharing whitelist is going to be much more secure. I guess you could just keep an eye on the number of views and take it down manually?
If you host the image on Google Drive, you can share it only with specific logged-in Google accounts.
They can still screenshot it though, and I'm not sure how you'd embed it. Also, you need to know their Google account, instead of/as well as their office email. -

2 x first class stamps would be £1.52, so should be fine

You'll have to make your whole site un-googleable so only go ahead if you're happy with that. What you could do is make a nicely designed PDF with all the project info and just host that on the site like an image or a clickout to it, most browsers can display PDF's well.

Don't bother, nothing will work. Once another person has seen the plaintext of content, the only thing stopping them from redistributing it is their conscience.
Also, if they're actually 'confidential', you'd presumably be in breach of your NDA with your employer if you showed them to anybody. Your dabs will be all over it if you use a website. I suppose if you're sounding out prospective new employers you won't be too bothered about upsetting your current one, but what sort of signal does it send to the new employer about your trustworthiness?

some other retailers do have one step down from the £3-4 postage band and only charge £1-2 for something as small as a bolt
Yes, but they are subsidising the p&p from the margin on the parts if they do that, which means people who buy a bunch of small parts at once are subsidising people who buy one at a time, or using it as a loss leader. That might be worthwhile as a marketing strategy, but let's not pretend you can actually pack and post anything for £1

Or 1924
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walchensee_Hydroelectric_Power_StationMy understanding is that Walchensee is just a Hoover-Dam-Style station with additional flow diverted from other rivers. That's a traditional hydroelectric generating station, not a pumped hydro storage system like Dinorwig.
Dinorwig's upper lake doesn't have a very large catchment area for rainfall, so most of the water that flows down the pipes was previously pumped up the same pipes.

Does anyone have a tips about storage (North London) I looked at self store places and they are far more than I expected. Just want somewhere to store all my bike spares really, would fit telephone box sized space.

Cheers. Admittedly my post is hugely delayed at the moment so it may still not get delivered until I can make it to the post office the way things are going.

Big Yellow literally list a "telephone box sized" space (10 square feet). I've used them before, and Safestore. I don't think there's any reason to pick one or other of the big chains beyond price.

Yeah that where I got that phrase, all the ones convenient to me are far more than I would want to pay for that amount of space, there is a safestore less than 200m from my home and they quoted me £100 (Inc 20% discount for the first few months), as much as i'd like the space in my home, I can think of better things to do with >£1200 a year. I suspect if I picked one on a more remote, far flung, industrial estate it would be cheaper....

I rent a garage for pretty much exactly that much per year, has ex-Imperial Works shelving at the back and down one side with all my power, car and DIY tools, bikes hanging from the roof beams and (usually) a car in.

It's a long time since I looked at storage. But yes one somewhere like near Colchester or Haslemere (Bucks) is cheaper than London.
Do you need easy regular access? Safestore style ones obviously give you that, but I'm sure that is part of the pricing. So if you don't need it then it can be cheaper.

You're probably in a bit of a hot spot both temporally and spatially, with millions of norf Londoners clearing their box rooms to create WFH space. I held on to stuff for far too long in storage, and I'm not even worst-case - an ex kept paying for well over a decade to store her old shit in NJ after she moved to London. At some point with low-value possessions, you just have to dump them and buy new when you need them, because that's cheaper than keeping them.
Yes, you can get lower prices further away, but if anything distance just encourages you to leave things in storage instead of doing the right thing and getting rid of them.

@Dammit Just looked up local garages, £30 for a whole lot more space. Long term, this probably the way.
@hugo7 If i had a car maybe, but I dont so it needs to be cybercycle. I think Dammits suggest is the way
@Sumo I knew what you meant!
@mdcc_tester I'm sure that's the situation yes, Storage = hoarding.
