  • I work on a few 'confidential' projects, for my employer, an architect. I would like to images of some of these on a portfolio website, purely for circulation to prospective employers, some of whom will be my employer's competition. Apparently wix sites can be made unlisted, so they don't appear in search engine results, but what other steps could I take to minimise the risk of them being circulated by those I send the site link to?

Don't bother, nothing will work. Once another person has seen the plaintext of content, the only thing stopping them from redistributing it is their conscience.

Also, if they're actually 'confidential', you'd presumably be in breach of your NDA with your employer if you showed them to anybody. Your dabs will be all over it if you use a website. I suppose if you're sounding out prospective new employers you won't be too bothered about upsetting your current one, but what sort of signal does it send to the new employer about your trustworthiness?

  • Yeah you're probably right. Not sure if there are official NDAs in place, but probably not worth the hassle if someone who shouldn't sees it. A lot of it could be reworked potentially but, you know... time.
