I find that I always feel like I’m playing games slightly out of order, because I get dragged into the side missions more than the main story.
I’ve got no problem with being overpowered for boss battles because of it, feel like I deserve it for having completed so many other objectives. Also I don’t play games often enough (outside of our current situation) that I want to race through them, so side missions mean I get to enjoy it.Remember finding one of the dragon side quests in god of war really early once I’d got the lake and that made me happy even though I was nowhere near the level to be taking it on.. was fun though..

I get anxiety about finishing the main storyline and not being able to go back and do the side missions, or by the time I do a side mission I'm way past that point in the story and it's no longer relevant. But also like Festerban I often end up overpowered by the time I come to do the main story.
