Rustines were the leader in repair patches, to the point the brand was synonymous with the product (like Hoover in the UK). They've been resurrected a few years back, and AFAIK they're still based in the original factory.

Thanks for the link! I'm disturbingly pleased that they are Fait en France. (it's usually not a preference for things that can't be eaten or drunk)
Edit: Obviously I'm lying (to myself), if the bike in question had been made pin Trondheim or Stuttgart I most likely hadn't bought it. I'm probably a closet- francophilie
