There's a school of thought that it helps you to be visible if you (the rider) are illuminated. I think there's even a front light whose USP is that it sheds a small amount of light back at your body.
Loving the daisy-chaining of the handlebar extenders though. Is it the bike equivalent of a mod's scooter with 94 mirrors?
