They're pretty common I find - had similar over some printer ink. I think, in fairness to sellers, often in eBay, people simply don't want (notions of machismo/winning) to pay the asking price no matter how reasonable; almost like they'd feel happy paying £15 when the seller asked for £20 but not £14 for the same thing I'd that's the asking price
Had another of those weird 'buy it now or best offer' interactions.
Pair of tyres listed at £18.95 or best offer. I offered £16, rejected. Offered £17.50, rejected. Seller counter offers £18.50.
45 fucking pence? Why even have offers on the thing if your only willing to take 45 fucking pence off the price?!
