• Had another of those weird 'buy it now or best offer' interactions.

Pair of tyres listed at £18.95 or best offer. I offered £16, rejected. Offered £17.50, rejected. Seller counter offers £18.50.

45 fucking pence? Why even have offers on the thing if your only willing to take 45 fucking pence off the price?!

  • They're pretty common I find - had similar over some printer ink. I think, in fairness to sellers, often in eBay, people simply don't want (notions of machismo/winning) to pay the asking price no matter how reasonable; almost like they'd feel happy paying £15 when the seller asked for £20 but not £14 for the same thing I'd that's the asking price

  • Yeah, I see what you mean about people wanting to feel they've 'gotten a deal'. Don't think 45p counts as a deal though. I just rejected the offer, I would have closed the deal last night if I could have had even £1 off but now I'll look around and see what else I can find.
