  • Fair, though I’m a bit heavy and wear Lycra to ride so maybe a match made in heaven. The other choices all seem to cost a lot more that I can see, or not gain me much in reach which is the point of the change

  • Anyone give me an idea on what these are worth -
Suntour XC Pro hubs, Campagnolo Atek rims, Panaracer Smoke lite tyres with life left in them

    Thanks

  • Don't now if you have looked at PX/On-one or like them, but there is a seconds sale at 2pm today, a couple of hardtail's, and a few frames, you can see the lot list now so might be worth checking out.

  • Bangin ride this morning doing all the classics round Mellor cross. Lovely views of kinder in the sun. Not too busy and no gates to stop and open. Dustytrailswin/10

  • Any recommendations around £1000-1500?

    Frame or whole bike?

  • Your priority should be to buy something you're happy with, if you think the geometry suits you and your not bothered about the weight then get that. It's not what I'd buy. It's not that cheap, it's fairly heavy, and geometry is a bit old. Have a look out for a Crush/905/San Quentin for a lighter aluminium frame or a Cotic for something that uses better materials, any of those options will be more fun, and that's what counts isn't it?

Also there's plenty of Cotic owners in this thread.

  • Whole bike ideally, could maybe stretch to a bit more

  • How about...

    ... a Bossnut ?

  • Cheers Howard,

Was thinking hard tail as I have a rigid single speed (27+) already and full sus would probably be overkill for me.

Had fancied the Tarn in the classifieds but would prefer something livelier

  • Anyone here in Kent? Newish to the area and would like people to ride with (once that's allowed) and find some new trails, bit boring riding bedgebury over and over again by myself!

  • I rode this today, it's far from shredding the gnar, but its largely off-road:

Bridleways and tracks, some very pretty bits of countryside.

  • Don't suppose anyone has a sram x9 front shifter (for a triple)? I'm doing a parts bin build and in "fixing" a shifter I knackered it.

  • I don't have an X9 without pilfering it from the OH's bike, which I think would make her grumpy. I think I have a spare X7 front triple shifter going spare though if that's any use to you.

  • Awesome. How much do you want? I'm out of the UK so covid or no covid, I'm not able to collect

  • Where in Kent are you?

  • I'm in Staplehurst, between Tonbridge and Ashford.

  • It's in the junk box, and I have no use for it. Cover the shipping, and it's yours.

I'll need to check the tat box to check it is there though...

  • The bikes of the frames that were recommended to Tallboy, if you shop you should be able to find something in your budget.

    Or

As @Howard recommends - Bossnut, although I'm not sure there's one amongst us.

    Failing that - Geometron.

  • Rigid bike is great fun. Makes all the single track round here a good challenge.

  • Rode Redlands today, banging fun. We all need a group ride, if only to test our eye sight.

  • There’s some nice trails round Barnard Castle. Not too far to detour to Danny Harts world of downhill at Hamsterley

  • Looks squashed.

  • Put some proper handlebars on and I'd ride it

  • I've not ridden it yet.
