I rode past someone on a stickered up pre cursa like this on the kings road a couple weeks ago. Wouldn’t have been you would it?

Nah, the frame came from Scotland to me in Devon

Little spin last night down to the river. Need to procure some new bars and a brake after payday and put the seat cage mounts to get it up to the fixed-road thread.

Got my Dolan FXE ready for summer today.
Took the full length mudguards off and gave it a good clean (only really gets done once or twice a year)Changed the handlebars for some 40cm bullhorns but just waiting for some black cable outer to finish the rear brake.. (I run SS for commuting)

Looks great you did a cracking job. Would be doing something similar with mine if it wasn't for the cranks being so stuck on I can't remove them without destruction and the BB probably being in a similar state

Finally started building my Pre-Cursa at the weekend. Waiting for a few bits (bb, chain etc). Hopefully have a pic up soon. Only been sitting in the garage for 8 months...

Is there anyone in this thread thats selling a 56 pre cursa?
-
• #4238
Morning people, has anyone mail ordered a full Pre Cursa from Dolan, how are they shipped?
Is it just a case of popping on the bars and wheels? or Do I need a bit more time set aside to build up ? -

Safety arrived and put together.
Size 54 for a 5ft 10 rider.
Possibly dropping the stem over the next few days.

What forks should I be looking at if I want to run a disc brake in the front of my PC? Any disc forks with similar rake/a2c as the Alpina track that won't cost me hundreds of euros? I'd love some input from people here who run discs on their PCs.
Edit: Also I'd love to be able to fit 32s in the front

You’re not gonna find a disc fork that has similar rake and a2c with a track fork. Any fork that will take a 32mm will have more rake and be taller.

An omnium cxc short version fork works great:
370mm a-to-c and 38mm rake. There is 33mm between the rim and crown so if your tires are less than 32mm tall they should fit.https://omniumcargo.dk/shop/product/cxc-tight-clearance-fork/
(omnium's own numbers are wrong...)
with a kojak 35c tire (comes up small ~33mm wide i think) -

These have been tried and tested for bike polo with a Pre Cursa frame (yep, PC for polo!) https://www.maxpowercycles.de/product/polo-forks/#wheel-size

Here's mine. Since this pic I put on a shorter stem (90mm). Also changed the gearing down to 46x19 from 48x19 to accomodate my unfit ass. Have been doing some local rides (can't stray too far from home due to family issues). Loving it.

What forks are they?
-
• #4248
Standard Dolan road deep drop winter fork. Was a configurable option when I bought the frameset.
-
• #4249
They flex quite a bit and AFAIK their lead times are quite long to get the forks in.

Will I be able to just put my current front wheel (formula track hub with 9mm solid axle + track nuts) in that fork? Says it's for QR wheels and I've never had any non-track specific components so I'm not sure if that means the dropout is different to the one on the alpina fork?
Moved my Dolan on now, but you can sand and paint these really easily, but there is a pretty thick primer on there. If I was re-painting now, I would just leave it at a keyed primer, rather than the bare metal - the Spray.bike stuff is pretty decent, (just take your time and use sparingly) it's also not a particularly strong finish, so expect a scratched up rat bike look building up pretty quickly.
I painted mine pink, green purple and raw on different occasions. It's such a cheap frame you don't need to worry about messing it up!
