I'm under the impression that most facilities at beaches are shut anyway so no big difference?
Personally I prefer beaches without facilities that you have to hike into anyway.

So do I assuming I am not fighting to find space on the beach at the other end. Like I said it's scenic and I've had a beutiful nights bivvy there doing astrophotography but if I am packing the family up in the car for a daymaking sandcastles, it wouldn't be my first choice

We took the opportunity to go for a sea swim while checking up on a sick relative yesterday. If you can be arsed to drive to the suffolk coast you can have a beach entirely to yourself. Wasnt another person for at least 500m+ in either direction!

Nah, there is a holiday park at the top of the cliffs which must have their car park open. It's wierd choice of beach to visit, its really scenic but rubbish access, no facilities and a pain to get to
