Not sure what to say about brands, there are so many good ones. Most of the time it's about how much you put into the riding.
Is this for skate park use mostly?
Or more for getting about?
Would it need a brake?

Yes, would need a brake.

it's just fun bikes for kids who want to ride around the neighbourhood and (hopefully) learn how to drop off a wall etc.
